Reclaiming MEANING
In Persian, “dehati” (دهاتی) is often used as a dismissive word for people from rural areas implying simplicity, lack of education or a lack of intellectual power. Yet this label overlooks a deeper truth: knowledge, intelligence, and artistry also live in lived experience and working hands.
In English, “hottie” is a playful word for attractiveness often linked to confidence, presence, and owning one’s value without apology.
DeHotties reclaims this word and intentionally mixes these 2 worlds.

RootedinDIGNITY
We celebrate creative human beings whose lives may be quiet, whose access to opportunity is limited, yet whose art is thoughtful, skilled, and expressive.

VISIBILITY as practice
Art needs a space and DeHotties exists to provide that platform.
A space that brings handcrafted work from different regions of Iran into the world, creating economic access and visibility especially for women who have no other ways to earn independently.
Because when visibility is missing, creativity still exists.
Our role is to open the door.
